  • Hawthorn berries decocted (simmered for 20 minutes) and sweetened with a bit of honey makes for a lovely heart-healthy tea. A syrup of hawthorn made with 1 part hawthorn decoction and 1-2 parts sugar is lovely on its own, as a heart tonic, or as an additive to bubbly water to make a hawthorn soda.
